concreteloop reported clear frames as a trend. Celebrity or not it is NEVER cool to wear eye-glasses if you don't need 'em. Except for editorial purposes. Even tho Rihanna looks cute, if she doesn't need eyeglasses then she's ass for wearing 'em. And so is Kanye. And so is Pharrell (tho he kinda looks like a sexy hip hop johnny depp). I love concreteloop but they got this one completely upside down. Geek chic is definitely hot. But you don't got to fake the funk to do it.

New L.A. Gear release...wait, what?
L.A. Gear's? Seriously? I haven't heard ANYTHING on that brand since like, 4th grade. It looks like the legendary brand of our childhood will lose the welfare stigma it so tragically has become attached to, and be reborn with the help of ladies only crew, Club Zonder Filter (of The Netherlands--it definitely would take some dope European chicks to bring L.A. Gear's back on the scene). This drop, entitled the 'Stardust' (shown here in the Fireball colorway--it comes in eight other color combos), is exclusively for the girls! And they're super cute! I'm diggin' the little bow applique on the heel. I'd totally cop. Word is, they've been available since September 13th through Amsterdam sneaker spot, Patta (and other high-end sneaker stores throughout Europe), but theres no sign of them on the website. The myspace is also equally confusing. It has a countdown to September 13th that still says there are 13 days left. Are Dutch calendars different than ours? Wtf? When is the American release?! IS there an American release? I want these! Now, now!

CTRL Lookbook, Fall '08
Elle has been on point, keeping everyone updated on fall '08 fashion drops, but Sarah Morisson (via Missbehave) blogged about this brand (CTRL) that I'd never heard of. I went to the site and clicked on 'About' to find out more about the company & all I've managed to figure out is that it's a European, presumably Swedish, brand, and they're into naked chicks, strange pictures, Big Bird, ET and other weird, socially unacceptable shit. Europeans are so cool. Sounds like a party! Check out CTRL's yummy new lookbook. Everything looks so bright & scandalous & compliment-earning. I want everything, especially this great hoodie shown at right. Some of the tees are fierce too--perfect to rock before its gets so cold you have to wear a coat ALLZ the time. If you cop anything, and someone asks you where you got it from, feel free to put on your pretentious 'I rock foreign clothes' face and ROAST for not being down with the 'latest in fashion abroad'. Ay dios, I die for Gucci. This Spring 2009 collection makes me so sad their a luxery brand. But I cannot wait to try these looks out.
Frida Giannini is the cutest Gucci designer ever. The collection takes a women's take on menswear to a perfectly modern place. The loose fit of the pants, the exotic prints & colors, the fantastic ankle strap & t-strap platforms, added with a tipped-low fedora gave Spring 09 a whole new swag.

Yo this shit is craaaazy! Zoo York & Skavenger put together a free-for-all race early this Summer of over 100 BMXers. Basically ma' fuckas had to get from Union Square (Manhatten) to Edwin De La Rosa’ POST store (Brooklyn). They asked everyone not to kill themself and not to get arrested.
$5000 in cold-hard cash was given to 1st, 2nd , & 3rd place winners.
I'm tight I wasn't there, though I would never have made it outta Manhatten.

WWD reports that mi amors, Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen will be teaming with Steve Madden to design shoes for their Elizabeth and James collection. MK & Ashley will be creative directors and the footwear will drop mid 2009. Which is so long from now. These are my style icons & their shoe game is always on point, so I know this line will be well worth whatever high-end price they charge. Plus their Elizabeth & James collection is amazing! So excited! Let's hope the shoes are in just the right price range.

Target is the shit. Jonathan Saunders is the latest high fashion designer to jump on the affordable train and I am loving every bit of it. The collection reads Saunders all over. It hits stores & online in October. I cannot wait to od on A-Li$t's discount!
