What! This Telephone video delivered and more! It sent a true message. If you listened. The quotes, the relationship with Gaga and Beyonce, them dressed in American flags, everything here was pretty crazy. We also keep learning that sex always sells. The fashion, the dancing, the setting, all amazing, basically we're pretty shitted on. Gaga taught Beyonce how to kill, she put on them Jeremy Scott frames and well, to be continued. It gets better towards the end. Gaga's cigarette glasses were scary. I saw some nods to Michael Jackson. And Tyrese Gybson is in it. Overall, I'm inspired. Holla!

Majority of you believe in the theory of evolution. I, however, am not a believer, I voted no. When I was younger I hated the theory of evolution. And then I was told, hate comes from ignorance, you hate what you don't understand. So soon I took an Anthropology class & was finally enlightened. Evolution is, biologically, "the change in the inherited traits of a population of organisms through generations. When a population splits into smaller groups, they evolve independently and develop into new species." The earlier species couldn't survive long, so new born species would then develop traits to help them. I asked my professor, why aren't we still evolving? FYI, this was happening all over the world, so that's how races came about. But it's basically mutation, and that would mean that we are mutants and have the ability of mutation. My professor said it's just that we became a complete species, with all the necessary traits to be successful in living a long life. We didn't need to mutate anymore. I guess that makes sense. I read a little on gene flow and genetic drift which explains how, scientifically, genes move and create new "people". So, I certainly don't hate the theory, now that I get it's possibility. Because I believe, all in all, anything is possible, no one really knows the truth. I still believe we were made from God, starting with Adam and Eve and all that incest. Lol. Educate yourself on all things, even though you may not agree with it. Knowledge is power, my friends.

More Oscar's 2010 Red Carpet!

I really enjoyed the Oscar's Red Carpet. I was happy with many. I didn't really agree with E!'s Fashion Police. But I had a difficult time choosing a best dressed. I decided to go with Tom Ford, because he just understands mens fashion. The bow, the flower, the pocket square, all amazing. He's wearing Tom Ford, of course. Jump for many more! Zoe Saldana in Givenchy, was Loni's fav but E! had a love/hate relationship with it, like me, though they voted her in the worst spot. Loved some aspects, hated it overall.

Zac Efron in Calvin Klein. Love the skinny tie, love the shoes, but his face looks a bit plastic-like.


Robert Downey Jr in Lanvin. I love the blue bot-tie and I love the glasses. He was voted in Worst Dress because of the sneakers which I will fine him for as well. It is the Oscars after all. A nice dress shoe would have made this a perfect winner for me.


Rachel McAdams in Elie Saab. Love the water colors. I love it.


Sarah Jessica Parker in Chanel Haute Couture. She was voted worst dress, because she's so short in this long, narrow dress. But i think it elongates her and I kind of like the twist at the ankles. Her hair was bad though, and she could have made a better choice.


Sandra Bullock in Marchesa. Gorgeous. Congrats to you on the win! You deserve it!


Ryan Reynolds in Tom Ford. He won best dressed. He certainly does look good.


Nicole Richie and Joel Madden. She is in Reem Acra, a very glam-boho look. I love it. She was a best dressed nominee. And Joel looks like his normal cool.



Miley Cyrus in Jenny Packham. The bust is too tight, but I love it. I think it's gorgeous and she looks great in it.


Maggie Gyllenhaal in Dries van Noten. I love it.


Kristen Stewart in Monique Lhuillier. The dress looks great on her but she looked plain with o earrings or necklace.



Kate Winslet in Yves Saint Lauren. I love her, and her choices.


Jennifer Lopez in Armani Prive. She was runner-up for Best dressed. She really looks stunning. Get it girl!


Jake Gyllenhaal in Burberry. Adore him.


Chris Pine in Ralph Lauren Purple Label. I dig him.


Charlize Theron in Christian Dior Couture. I think this is my favorite. It was voted in worst but I die for it. I love the breast detail, love the color, the fit, it's so Dior, it's so Charlize. Yes.


Cary Mulligan in Prada. I love her new blonde color. I dig this whole look.


Cameron Diaz in Oscar De La Renta. I love it, I love her, yes all over.


Amanda Seyfried in Armani Prive. I have mixed feelings but overall, I think she looks beautiful, and i love the dress, it's just the stiff top that kind of bothers.

This years Oscars was another one of those, "lets see if the colored folk wins." By the way, CONGRATULATIONS to Monique on her win. I felt so compelled to make this post for various reasons. Today at work, one of my white co-workers didn't understand why I was texting and sneaking calls to find out whether or not Monique or Gabourey won in their categories. This week I've REALLY come to realize why it is so important to people of color when one of us wins such a prestigious award as an Oscar.

Last week in my English Literature class, my classmates kept going back and forth about how my black professor kept making faces that were opposite of how she was actually feeling and that she should be more obvious about how she actually felt. Finally, one of them said "your facial expressions are hard to read." Now, that was one of the moments being the only black student in a class where I knew something was wrong, but didn't say anything. The moment I walked out of class, I went to one of my mentors and told him what happened. I don't know if I wasn't explaining to him what had happened correctly, but his reaction wasn't what I thought it would have been.

HISTORY
During slavery and even after, one of the reasons black people were seen as animals and not human, was because we were unable to blush. Actually, I take that back. We WERE and ARE able to blush, but of course, because of our skin tones, it is harder to see a rosy cheek on us. Also, do you know what blackface and minstrel shows are? It first started off when whites would paint their faces black, and mimic what they thought they saw black people as. Of course they were all stereotypical views, however it became something blacks started participating in. The shows lasted for over 100 years and stuck because it was what audiences would pay to see. I mean, who would pay to see a black person play a compelling role that isn't stereotypical right? Black folks were merely giving audiences what they paid for...and what was that? To laugh at us.

Monique and the few other people of color who have won an Oscar should be applauded to the 10th degree and beyond. Not only did they win their well deserved Oscars, but they won it playing roles that many people would not have paid to see just a few years back. Furthermore, they were able to prove that they could play roles that weren't minstrel like and had any kind of buffoonery in it. Monique, being a comedian, all hats go off to you. You stepped outside of your box and you nailed your role. Our people have been oppressed for so long. I guess this is why there is a beef between Spike Lee and Tyler Perry. *shurg shoulders* Who makes more money in theaters??? Tyler Perry. Can you guess why? Ummmmm...yeah.

Have you seen Alice yet?

Alice in Wonderland, which opened this past Friday set a record opening at $116.3 Million and that's only in the US and Canada. The film actually raked in $210.3 Million across the globe its first weekend in theaters. Alice In Wonderland set the biggest opening record for the first quarter ever, beating out Passion of The Christ which opened at $83.8 Million in 2004.

Have you seen the 3-D film yet? What did you think? I was told the graphics are phenomenal but the actual story and dialogue is just okay, but that Helena Bonham Carter's performance of the Red Queen was the winner. I think all the high expectations can set people up for disappointment. But when I see it I'm just looking for great visuals and inspirational quotes.

Here is Ernie Anastos from Fox 5 telling the weatherman to "keep fucking that chicken" and his co-reporter that she's "looking good" as she's working out with her titties jiggling. The FUNNIEST part is when the weatherman replied to him with "K, I'll do that" and then shakes his head LMFAO

ABC vs Cablevision...vs The people

Hmm. I wanted to post Cablevision's commercial about this shit but you can only watch the extended version of it here. All this price hiking shit is getting out of control. Us 3.1 million Cablevision customers may not be able to watch the Oscars on t.v. this Sunday :( Disney is mad fucking greedy. Everyone is mad fucking greedy. ABC says Cablevision pockets over 40 million a month from their customers, for networks like ABC that are basically free. WE are the victims, not Cablevision or WABC. No matter what, we still lose. ABC is threatening to pull the plug on WABC-7 unless Cablevision and its customers agree to pay millions of dollars in new fees.
In these difficult and challenging economic times, it is not fair for ABC to force Cablevision and its customers to pay what amounts to a new TV tax for the same programming that is available today for free over the air and on the Internet.
Cablevision already pays ABC's parent company more than $200 million per year to carry its channels; now ABC wants a 20 percent fee increase for exactly the same programming.
It is wrong for ABC to demand $40 million in new fees to help pay the salaries and bonuses for top ABC executives.
Cablevision has tried in good faith to reach a fair agreement with ABC. In fact, top Cablevision executives traveled to ABC offices in California earlier this month, and had lengthy face-to-face meetings this week in Bethpage and New York City. We have made numerous proposals, all of which have been rejected.
E-mail or call 1-877-NO-TV-TAX and tell ABC not to turn off WABC-TV while we negotiate a deal that is fair for everyone.

It's so weird seeing this cover and all the talent on it. Today, XXL Mag released their pics for, pretty much, "who got next," in the world of hip hop. Trust me, whether you like hip hop or not, something about each individual on this XXL Freshman '10 cover will force you to develop a liking because like the real hip hop analysts would say, "they got bars!"
