Photographer Michael Lavine has collaborated with author Thurston Moore to create their book, Grunge. "An illustrated tell-all account of the life and death of the Grunge movement". It's said that the movement began in the 1980s, in Seattle before taking over pop culture, half-way through the 1990s. "Moore writes about the discovery of Seattle punk youth; the seminal bands that defined the movement; the exploitation of the subculture; the backlash of grunge; as well as the death of his long-time collaborator and intimate Kurt Cobain." Lavine presents an impressing series of photos, capturing the movement live in it's moment. You can purchase Grunge on Amazon now. Hit the JUMP for a bunch of inspiring photos from the book. There's one with Courtney & Kurt that looks psychotic. I love them all!
