Metrocard Fare Hike & then some

Hey New Yorkers, guess the fuck what?
We're possibly facing another fare hike. Next year we might be looking at $3.00 a ride. I read in the paper that NY's Gov is having big problems with their budget. Supposedly they're short over $600 Mill. So to make their money they're making some changes...this is what we can expect:

• Fare hike to $3.00 (in 1904 it was 5cents, in 1986 it was $1, it raised 3 times in the 90's & went to $2 in '03)
  
• Less Road Repair (as if Brooklyn's pot holes aren't bad enough)
• Less trash pick-ups, especially on Sundays & Holidays (this would be ok if people stopped littering!)
• Less cops on the streets (I'm with that!)
• Less fire engines at night (WTF)
• Highway lights will be turned off (this is not the fucking south!)
  
• More crowded trains & longer lines at the machines
• Less train services
• Taxes being raised (Bloomberg said if New Yorkers want service, we're going to have to pay for them)
• Tolls going up 5%
• SUNY Tuition being raised an extra $1000 (as if school isn't difficult enough)

This is some straight bullshit. Nothing is final yet though. They're waiting until they're budget is finalized by the end of the year. But many of these actions will more than likely take place.
The worst is tuition raising. School is really difficult to pay for, why would they do that? I think everyone should just quit school as a sign of protest. I mean, that shit has to be fought. Some dumb ass rich students are happy with the increase, 'cause they want to help our city. Fuck that shit. We need to help ourselves. School should not cost as much as it does. An education should be free. Knowledge should be free.
Besides that, the city is exspecting to make $66 million from parking tickets & $69.8 Million from building & sanitation tickets. They have plenty of ways to make money.
Our economy is in trouble...2009 may be a tough year. I say, let's do the best we can to help ourselves 1st & the city 2nd.
