i was actually thinking about posting this same thing shaming these artists for supporting the Gap which uses child labors...but then i thought so does nike & i wear them nearly every day...but even tho i still rock nike, i will NEVER support the gap.
if you're going to shun one, your efforts are lost unless you shun them ALL. selective activism is the same as inaction.
tru dat
well just because i support 1 does that mean i should support all? I rather support 1 then 2...i wont defend my habits to buying nike, because there sint much 2 say..but I still wont support the gap just because i support nike. that wuld be stupid...
and no selective activism isnt the same as inaction...thats an oxymoron anonymous...activism is action regardless...no1 in this world acts on everything...every1 selects a charity...no1 donates 2 all...so how can u say because sum1 chooses only certain things to support they're being inactive?
let's imagine these children are all standing in front of you...working 60 hr weeks for a fraction of what we would normally get paid in just a few hours. the left side, nike. the right, the gap. according to your statements, it's okay to clothe, feed and essentially liberate the kids on the right, and glance sadly to the left at nike and say...'maybe next time'? no, not everybody donates to all charities. and yes, this type of activism is hard, and takes time and learning--but your statements would be more powerful, and better heard if you said: i don't support this practice' rather than picking and choosing which companies you decide you like too much to stop buying from, and shunning those you could do without. a bolder statement, in fact, would come from your discontinuation (if only briefly) of use from nike, since you admittedly purchase and wear their products frequently.
don't point fingers at people who buy/wear Gap while you've got the same abuse laced around your feet.
Love, I never said what Nike did was okay and what Gap does is bad. I said, If you read correctly that I WAS going to get at Gap but then I chose not to because Nike does the same thing & I wear them 2...but I still chose not to wear Gap. I NEVER EVER EVER said it was okay what Nike does. NEVER. I only wear Nike sneakers because I have a sneaker habit. Just because I have that habit it does not mean I am going to support every child laboring company. I never pointed my finger at those who wear Gap, Once again if you read correctly, I said I, I Elle, will never support the Gap. I never said any1 was wrong who did. And I hope my friend that none of your clothes are made from companies who use child laboring, which is many. My statement was not meant to be powerful, I don't know why my opinion means so much to you, Anonymous...my statement said that I understood I would be wrong to make a post shunning Gap since I still wear Nike, if you read correctly.
If you want to be an activist love, do it properly, at the right people, & with a little pride. Anonymous people are ashamed, that's why they hide who they are. I am proud that i don't wear Gap..and all though I am not proud that i wear Nike, I am proud how good I look in my SBs. I can't save the world love, but I can choose who i will & will not support.
lmfao @ the hypocrite getting so defensive and still not making a point. Your passion is futile if you're still supporting child labor. Go buy some crocs and get off you own pedestal of hypocrisy and foolishness.
They never had shoes but they're selling their souls/soles so you could buy them.
No more nonsensical responses or comments in relation to bickering.
I should have never posted this
ignorance is bliss love
