Theophilus London

The 2nd performance at Fames Allure was like nothing we've ever heard before. Brooklyn reppin' rapper Theophilius London had people intrigued even before he stepped on stage. This soul/new wave/hip hop artist has got the perfect swag for stardom. He stepped to the mic and made everyone get their ass up. Theophilius London, as he told the crowd, he didn't make that up his pops gave it to him, use to go by Kapps (Thelonius Kapps) but decided to use his birth name. His record label is normRex and he has created a great name for himself. With a sound uniquely his own, his flow is smooth and charming, but he's got this hard edge, and confident attitude. He's certainly a character, jumping on tables, dancing around stage, and being quite the comedian, he sang-along to Whitney Houston's I will always love you.

The delivery of his lyrics show inspirations of soul music, add in his 80's-like electro beats and we've got a spankin' spin on Hip Hop. His mixtape Jam! is out now. And you can download it on his myspace. When he came to me with the cd I asked him if it was worth the $5 he was charging, he said that was a horrible question and then told me it was worth a lot more. After listening to the 22 track mixtape, I'm convinced he's going to be worth a whole lot more than $5 could ever get.
